Lamborghini reveals new Estoque four-door saloon
Well, Lamborghini’s certainly done it – upstage Ferrari’s new California, that is. But not necessarily in the way a casual observer might have expected. Meet the Estoque – a conceptual vision of a future four-door Lamborghini saloon, unveiled for the first time at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.
We should emphasize that the Estoque really is only a concept at this stage. Your immediate reaction might well be ‘thank heavens’ – if not for the fact that Lamborghini is considering building a four-door at all, then possible for the styling. It is a challenging looking creation, to say the least.

Ferrari California is officially unveiled
It goes without saying that it’s fast, Michael Schumacher helping out with the development and putting his official seal of approval on the new car.
But it’s also very luxurious, Schumacher himself boasting the California is “designed for everyday use and for weekends away whilst still guaranteeing all of the emotional impact that only an authentic Ferrari can deliver.”
But then you’d expect him to say that. So much for the fluff, what about the substance? Well for the first time on a Ferrari we’ve got a folding metal hardtop and the choice of coupe and cabrio in one. It’s also Ferrari’s first dual-clutch automated gearbox, the seven speed unit as fast as it is smooth and driving through a classic V8 motor.

Citroen’s ace new green concept
Citroen’s star exhibit is a car so fast it doesn’t even have time for spaces in its name. This is the “GTbyCitroen”, a brand new concept, designed in conjunction with Polyphony, the people behind the Gran Turismo 5 PlayStation 3 game.
We’ll call it the Citroen GT for the sake of simplicity. It’s a vision of a future performance car, driven by electric motors and powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. So there are no emissions, just maximum performance. But for us what’s really key is that it looks truly amazing.
Long, low, and wide was obviously the brief. But there are tricks here, too, in an effort to make the Citroen GT look like it’s moving even when it’s still. The rear end has been exaggerated, elongated, emphasized, and the impression of always at speed is enhanced by the white-fades-to-grey colour scheme.

BMW reveals new 7-Series and X1
If the last 7 Series set out to court controversy the all-new model seen here for the first time plays it much safer. That’s not to say BMW is resting on its laurels though – the new 7 sniffs blood in its ongoing fight with the sector leading S-Class.
Has it got what it takes to land a killer blow on the Mercedes flagship? Well, BMW is throwing all its technological might into making sure it does, combining traditional focus on driver pleasure with a new understanding of what luxury limo owners really want.
Adaptive damping and optional four-wheel steering give the big Beemer nimbleness you wouldn’t expect of a car this size while a plethora of cameras and sensors will keep you on the straight and narrow, with lane departure warning, blind spot sensing, night vision (with added pedestrian recognition) and side facing cameras.
