Dear Fellows @ Pakwheels.Com,
My topic was vanished from the FORUM (I don’t know why), so, I am adding it again.
It has been observed that the LOGOS (monograms) of TOYOTA COROLLAS (so called new corolla i.e. model after year 2002) gets “RUSTED/CORRODED” after 1 year.
I went to TOYOTA CENTRAL MOTORS (Karachi) and asked a showroom personnel over there about the “declining quality issue” of the LOGOS, he replied that “we are not responsible for the low-quality of LOGOS on cars as we don’t make them, we have our authorized VENDORS and this is totally upto them which material they use”.
Let us realize that if the INDUS MOTOR COMPANY is giving the APPARENT/EXTERNAL parts of such sub-standard and inferior quality, then what about the INTERNAL/CONCEALED parts and (or) accessories of the car?
Should we buy TOYOTA COROLLA only because it has a high re-sale value?
There are many other quality-based issues of NEW COROLLA and many of the buyers know that the Corolla presently available in Pakistan has got serious inferior-quality issues, but even then we buy it.
I think it is the right time to give a chance to MITSUBISHI LANCER, NISSAN SUNNY, CHEVROLET OPTRA and all the other foreign assembled cars and prefer them when we are going to buy a NEW CAR. These foreign-assembled cars will definitely build “RE-SALE VALUE” and “SPARE PARTS” availability when we will buy them…
The issue being raised by me is not at all to DISHEARTEN the OWNERS of Corollas (I know they would be in 1000’s of numbers in this community and my father has also been brand-loyal towards Corolla till year 2002) but let us find whether these locally assembled cars are any more worthy to buy (also keep in mind the premium factor).
Best regards,
S. Nasir Raza Zaidi
