So here's my car story. Back in 1983, my dad got a job in Oman. While there, he saw a VW showroom and saw a car called VW Golf. It was left hand drive so he ordered one from abroad(Germany i think) and got the right hand model exported to Pakistan. Fast forward 17 years. Car mileage 60,000km. On his way to DIKhan, he rams the car over a small divider as there were no lights on the road and he was drivin realy fast and there shudve been no divider there. 3 years later, in 2003, the car finally gets fixed up and i join medschool and get to drive it. I love classic cars so I fell in love. Check this out. Dad goes back to DIKhan to meet my chachas and show em the car got fixed and RAMS IT INTO THE SAME DIVIDER AGAIN!!! I had installed a sound system and everything in that car. Now, im about to graduate in two months and over this period, ive ordered stuff from the UK and germany for this car at clearance sales etc cuz they dont make parts for it anymore. I scouted warehouses online and ordered all the new stuff i could - shocks, lights, radiator, hose pipes, accelerator cables, gaskets anything i could find to keep the car as original as possible. Got a barely used(15,000 km) diesel engine of a 1985 jetta 1.6L imported as well(free, someone owed me a favour), got pearl black paint from the VW showroom in Oman and brought all that stuff to pakistan part by part in my summer vacations. Got hold of a great mechanic in Islamabad. After painting, denting and fixing everything up, i've been told the car's ready. pics comin soon(26th January, 2009). After my last paper tomorrow, i head to islamabad and return with my rebuilt black VW Mark II Golf!
