Dutch designed custom Corvette based on C6
It’s not unusual for a design company to pen their own unique interpretation of an iconic car in an attempt to grab some headlines, but it is something else to take that drawing and actually put that car into production.
But, Dutch design company Ugur Sahin Design have done just that with their own version of a modern Corvette.
Called the Z03, Ugar Sahin’s creation is a carbon fibre bodied Corvette C6, tuned to produce a minimum of 700hp.
Power comes from a supercharged version of GM’s LS7 V8 engine, but for those with a greater thirst for excitement a 999hp twin turbocharged version is also available. The Z03 even features a nod to previous Corvettes with a domed see-through section in the bonnet.
The Z03 is built by American based tuners Mallett Cars, who in addition to installing the car’s V8 carry out a substantial amount of work that includes a new fuel system, head gaskets, timing valves and a custom exhaust system.
Unsurprisingly all this work doesn’t come cheap, and at $69,000 for the full body and a further $32,700 for the 700hp and $35,795 for the 999hp engine conversion, owners will have spent close to $100k on top of the C6 donor car’s purchase price. Ouch!
