I am not sure about others, but I have imported required spares and tools along with the bike. I have a service manual weighing 5kg and I try to service myself.

With EFI, there is really nothing much to tune except changing the oil, filters, plugs, brakes and cleaning the fuel injectors.

My bike is shaft driven so there is also no requirement of lubricating the chain as well.

Most people don't bother registering as it costs anywhere from 20-25k & they end up selling the bike anyway after a few months. Plus the resale value is the same whether it's registered or not.

My Honda Shadow Phantom was the only one registered in the group with Islamabad number. It cost just 5,000 rupees for registration, since the tax is paid at customs for imported vehicles.

I wanted to keep my bike for long time and also avoid any hassle with police, therefore got it registered immediately after importing.

The cheapest way is getting it done yourself by going to registration office. If you go through agents, they will charge you 2-3 times more amount. It took around 2 days of efforts and I was able to get everything done myself.

The fees I deposited in bank for registration was around 5,000 rupees for 750CC, plus an additional 500 rupees for special 2 digital number.

The fees also depends on CC of bike and for how long the bike remained unregistered. I believe you have to pay fine for delayed registration after import.

Thanks, i get it now, so that's why it's higher it's probably late registration charges. Will have to give for two years myself, as mine was imported in 2011.
