As'salam o alykum dear all,
I just managed to finish one more tour on bike starting from Rawalpindi-Murree-Nathiagali-Thandiyani-Abbottabad-Rawalpindi.
We started our journey at 8:00am on 16-02-2014 and then kept enjoying the snow all the way almost onwards from murree. The nathiagali trek was absolutely fantastic. The road was covered with snow and I ride bike on snow first time it was really a different experience and learning. We spent handsome time in murree-nathiyagali. On the way in nathiagali we came across one point where that was covered with crystal slippery snow road. There were some local person who were tying the chains on tires of cars charging 500 Rs per car. The distance which had to be covered was half kilometer roughly. They also stopped us that you cant go. But finally we decided that we are going. so we left and moved the bike on snow carefully and reached on the other part of the road which was without snow. And then we started to move towards thandiyani. It was really a fantastic moment as when we started our tour from rawalpindi, we started from without snow part and then moved to the snow part (murree-nathiagali) and then from nathigali to thandiyani junction point (from where thandiyani is about 25km) it was again the without snow part and then as we were approaching near to thandiyani, again the snow part started. so it was really awesome experience. One of my friend said that there wont be that much snow in thanidyani and i was like you reach there and then you will see. And to our surprise it was heavy snow in thandiyani as compared to nathiagali.
We reached 2km before thandiyani at 3:45pm almost and onward from that the road was covered with snow completely. So we planned not to take risk and parked bikes there and started capturing snaps and playing with snow, meanwhile 2 cars from faisalabad also reached that point and parked their care at that place and surprisingly asked us about our location. And when we told them that we are from rawalpindi, he smiled and said " wherever we go, we mostly find guys on bikes belongs to rawalpindi )....He further asked how many times you fell from bike during this tour. I said till now it didnt happen :)....... One thing from which i suffered was the nature call due to cold weather It really annoyed me all the tour as my legs were so cold for words. No matter i wore trouser and jeans. still.........
Anyways then we walked for some distance and found that road is clear ahead, so we came back and ride bike on snow covered road, covered that snow patch and moved to without snow patch road and covering a little distance the road was again covered with snow. so we continued this way to the top of thandiyani at 4:45pm There was a coaster in which people were surprisingly looking to us. We took some snaps took tea. The shopkeeper closed the shop as magrib was near and two person also told us to leave immediately otherwise we wont be able to go back as snow will become hard on road after sometime. so we rushed and moved back at 5:05pm as that fear hit me and unfortunately as we moved back the traffic was jammed , as the same person (faisalabad) attemted to move care on that snow part and his car got stuck. Only one care could move at a time on that narrow trek. One prado and that coaster was ahead from us and we got stuck and starting screaming to move the care quickly as the sun was about to hide itself behind mountains. The person in the car was not able to move the car direction as on one side it was a steep depth and one side it was snow covered mountain. People moved from coaster and picked the car, pushed the car and finally changed the direction of the car. Finally the traffic got opened and i crossed the coaster and moved towards the thandiyani abbottabad junction point. The other friend on bike was behind and they told later that they fell on snowy road. But thanks to Allah subha na hu ta'ala i covered the trek safely
Finally we reached that junction point before dark said thanks to Allah subha na hu ta'ala and moved towards abbottabad, offered prayer there and then started our journey towards rawalpindi at 6:45. We ride the bike nonstop and reached Rawalpindi near 9:20pm, almost in 2:30 hours. Then moved to Banni "Baala tikka house" and had our dinner and finally back to home :-).
