BAW is one of the older Auto manufacturers of China and have the joint ventures with major industry players like Hyundai and Daimler AG.
On 29th July 2010, the images of their new BAW C30 sedan has been released. According to Chinese sources it is based on current Mercedes B-class and powered by new 1.5 liter turbocharged engine, probably from Hyundai and an electric version as well.
The G4EC engine delivers maximum 105 horsepower while 30EV Electric version will use lithium-ion polymer battery, rated capacity is 100Ah, with the power of 63 hp AC induction motor. In the electric drive system, the vehicle speeds up to 160km/ h, with 100 km acceleration time of only 11.5 seconds.
The BAW C30 is expected to hit the market in the first half of 2011, price has not been disclosed yet.
