New Yorkers were the first members of the public to set eyes on the next Audi TT at the city's motor show.
Showing off the new TT's crisper lines, the show car also proves that the second-generation TT has increased in size a fraction all over.
However, extensive use of aluminium has reduced weight to 90kg less than the old model's, while weight distribution has been improved to give sharper handling.
New suspension settings also up the handling game, while four-wheel drive is standard for the 3.2 V6 TT.
The V6 engine provides 250bhp and sees off 0-62mph in 5.7secs, while the front-drive 2.0-litre engine has 200bhp for 0-62mph in 6.6secs.
Inside, the new TT's cabin is a smarter version of the old model's.
UK buyers will have to wait until September 9 to get their bums in the TT's driving seat and will pay £24,625 for the privilege for a 2.0-litre model.
The V6 costs from £29,285, while a Roadster version is set to arrive next Spring.
