With the domestic market on the downturn, automobile exports have been important in keeping the Chinese industry afloat. According to official statistics, China's automobile exports look to exceed 800,000 this year, the
Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.
Despite that exports in September were lower than in August, they still experienced stable year-on-year growth of over 50 percent, the China Association for Automobile Manufacturers said. Statistics also show that China exported 614,000 vehicles in the first nine months of the year.
According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, total imports and exports from January to August were 31 percent higher than for the same time period last year, while total money generated grew 34 percent.
According to experts from the State Information Center (SIC), currency devaluation and the readjustment of subsidies for energy-saving vehicles have taken their toll on the automotive industry in China. The SIC expects demand for automobiles to expand around four percent.
