Whilst General Motors may be struggling in its homeland, its far from poverty in the PRC.
GM jumped head first into the Chinese market, and due to its vast portfolio of car brands, GM has risen to the top of the pile continually in monthly and yearly sales targets in China.
Excellent sales can be attributed to the Buick range of cars that are a mix and match of cars from other brands but rebadged for China that has created a range of cars that looks unstoppable. Buick China offers a wide range of vehicles that are at either end of the price spectrum, but offer good quality.
The millionth car sale in China was marked last Friday when keys to a Buick Park Avenue were handed to Zhang Jianping at the GM cooperate showroom in Shanghai.
GM now offers more than 50 different cars in China under the Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac lines, these cars range from tiny hatchbacks to MPVs, and SUVs. Chinas appetite for American motors doesnt seem to veering off course any time soon. Several American cars are actually made in America, and then exported to China which shows that the trend of Chinese exports to the USA is beginning to buck.
