i came across the source page of this DIY searching for something related to my MS thesis and i thought why not to give it a try as i have the tools to do it with me, so just got the required bits from college road and started fabrication, so here i go

all the bits laid down at start of fabrication

bits started to go on project board

back side of board with soldering

spacers for LCD added

now thats pain in the ^&*% to lay out the circuit

the DIY table during project

fabrication completed

LCD mounted and ready to fire the circuit

and it worked

Display is fade because battery is weak, give some rest to battery and it work fine for few minutes.

micro controller is PIC16F688 and sensor is Dallas DS1820

was near end so will include

. Just one question isn't PCB supposed to be marked with a marker and then dipped in an acid or some solution and you get the conducting lines you want, instead of these long soldering of wires ... or you did it because it is easier this way ...

thanks bro, well to have a printed PCB you first need a good circuit diagram, this circuit i laid down was designed on plain paper sheet looking at the schematic diagram so unless you design circuit properly this is the way to go i guess.

las two pics are showing the temperature, its 23'C, well thats exactly the amount of current you get out of Rs.30 battery will be changing battery and adding new pics later

I think now you can also easily build a digital car heat gauge with an audible warning if temp rises above normal
