Boiling cannot destroy mineral quantity. In fact it does the opposite. Water can evaporate, but minerals cannot, so boiling increases the concentration of minerals. While boiling removes microbiological (bacterial) contamination, but if the water has chemical contamination, boiling will only increase the concentration of chemical contaminants such as lead and make the water even more more toxic.
So before adopting boiling one should get the tap water tested to see what type of contamination is present in the water. If it is microbiological it can be removed by boiling or 3 stage filtration with UV. If it is both microbiological and chemical, then RO filtration is a much better option.
