redbull: initially it was SE55 jvc bookshelf i bought in Europe in 1986. after few years i burnt the midrange driver by running it on small amplifier (distortion killed it).. found a kenwoodtrio replacement back then but sound was too sharp after replacement.. since then all these years it was lying in some box,, never got chance to play with it .
Last week it took it out, found one of my old collections of capacitors and played ard with additional resistances till i matched it up with other speakers ( i used a coil to cut off high frequencies from mid).. even though its small and bass cuts off after 55Hz, it still sounds pretty sweet on vocals bit metallic though. i placed it about 44 inches from floor and 20 inches away from wall. It stays the inner room acoustics and gave it about 50 watts from coaxial sampling at 44khz, the tweek note was 395 Hz other than that it sounds so flat you can listen to it loud whole night.
