I used to have a bunch of friends during school/college days. I'm still in contact with them via email/phone number. I don't think that friends tend to change their email addresses/cell nos. as soon as they leave the school/college.
I agree with you only when you've to find a 'lost' friend. You've not been in contact with him/her for a very long time after you left thats why you use facebook/orkut to find them. Otherwise if you never lost contact there's no point in finding them again. As for groups then you can do it via emails. Send one email to all, tell them what you are upto and thats it. Your status is updated.
Personally, I really find facebook/orkut of very limited us. As for girls stuff then it was just a joke.
My point in simple words is that these are some unnecessary communication ways. You just don't need them and mostly you waste your time on these. I don't know what kind of messages you can send only via facebook/orkut and not via email/sms. And then a typical day is spent like "Oh I've got an email to check, Oh I've got scraps to check, Oh i've got sms to reply, Oh i'm on phone." Damnnn... (N)
