    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    WAS,

The chamber is there for a reason.....to make sure the fuel pump gets the required amount of fuel while driving at corners and steep heights. If the fuel pump runs dry anytime, it will die soon. Interestingly, this chamber fills up to top by just 10 liters of fuel, so no need to worry. BTW cars having in-tank fuel pumps have such chamber to avoid fuel starvation.

    WAS,

The problem seems to be with the ignition switch that has separate point for radiator fan and AC. When the AC is started, the ignition switch point heats up causing bad connection of the alternator pin within the ignition switch. BTW, did you check if the alternator is working fine? What are the voltage reading with and without load (AC, Lights, AC+Lights)?

    WAS, Dear Asim,

Nice talking to you. As far as the mileage is concerned, I do want to mention that I have removed the entire CNG setup from my car to bring it to factory setting and get optimum mileage and performance on petrol. That includes removal of specifically CNG injector nozzle(putting a kabli unaltered throttle-body) and the cng cylinder + allied electronics. Secondly, the engine burns lean on CNG causing damage to valves. As per your saying that you have recently overhauled the engine, let it run for atleast 1500 km to properly break-in and it should gradually come to the desired performance and economy.

I hope Tahir must have checked everything and made replacements where necessary(as discussed with him on phone).

voltage remains plus of 12 volts on lesser rpm and comes to 12 with headlights or break light. Again emphasizing that problem emerges only with AC operative didn't exactly get ur point abt ignition switch

I'll post the ad here on PW in a day or two.

To the people of this thread, car is in very good condition as it is a daily runner so maintenance has always been timely done and is totally on petrol now. I still have the CNG kit and the cylinder so if anyone wants I'll give it with the car. PM me if you have any queries.

    Default Uplifting of Daewoo

    Hi Guys,

Sorry for posting this quite late. My daewoo was running fine, but still i decided to give it a complete uplift.

So I did some work in the car, the summary of which is as follows:

    -Removed the CNG kit etc.
    -Change complete engine wiring.
-Repair rest of the wiring (replacing wires with joints from end to end)
    -Change fuel pump
    -Repair suspension
    -Timing belt
    -Brakes
    -Gear oil
    -Engine oil + filter
    -Changed dash meter
    -Changed/Replaced sensors
    -Changed clutch work
and many other things simply replaced, and i have misplaced the bills (bad mistake)

I spent around 50K-60K on just these things.

Also, i got new seat covers, and got the complete car newly painted in toyota 1F8 color.

I bought an OBD bluetooth sensor reader with an ALDL adapter, which is not working for Daewoo, but working for my brothers Civic (which doesnt need the ALDL adapter ofcoarse)

Its in good condition, but not in a condition that i was hoping for. I guess i should stop comparing my daewoo with my brothers civic 2003

    I am attaching some pics:

Aoa, Test driver i hope you are doing good. well, i read most of your post here at this thread and your knowledge is awesome about daewoo racer. I am from Lahore and i got a very hectic and big issue its regarding the petrol consumption of my car. i bought it 6 months ago and already had done a complete engine overhauled. my car's petrol consumption is even less then 6km/liter which is irritating me so much that i hope u can imagine. I tried alot of good mechanics of daewoo, one of them suggest me to change all plugs cables and i did that, and other suggest me to change Map Sensor i changed that as well but all goes in vein nothing improvement has been made. every time they play with setting and the RPM distributor.... etc. Mostly i have to drive the car on petrol. please suggest me some solution or mechanic in lahore so that i come out of this issue and save my fuel expenses

    Regards,

    Hissan
