Well i own the bike for like 1year and 3 months, done more than 10k kilometers on it, and still didnt find myself in such a situation where i regretted my decision. There are many threads on ravi piaggio, If you are looking for some extensive research before buying, kindly go through them
After a long flamming discussions here on PW its confirmed that its ITALIAN TECHNOLOGY MANUFACTURED IN CHINA AND ASSEMBLED IN PAKISTAN.But the quality is very high as compared to other brands, i must say its equivalent to ATLAS HONDA, although some quality control is needed.
Pros Of R Piaggio:
1. Bigger Engine
Sporty Look
Comfortable suspension
Owsome grip5. 5 gears
Gear indicator
Oil indicator
Euro 2
Good topspeed 125km/h
Large fuel tank 15L
Self start
Dipper
Those are some unqiue features that most of the bikes in pakistan dont offer. Now coming onto your queries
No resale value
Apart from ATLAS HONDA none other have resale value, Atlas Honda has only this plus point. People must be using senses rather traditions and considering its high demand nowadays i highly doubt that R piaggio has no resale value, I assume it must be selling as a hot cake
Limitation of spare parts
+1, indeed shortage of spare parts, But mostly CG Deluxe spare parts fits easily into R Piaggio, You have to take care of plastic parts such as fenders, side skirts etc etc. Those will be hard to find. Apart from that you can find everything from local market
Not every mechanic know this bike.
Yes indeed, but in the end you wont take your bike to every mechanic, engine mechanism and working is same as of ATLAS HONDA CG125, so any good CG125 mechanic can tune it properly, there's no rocket science in it. Plus mostly 80% of the mechanics are self proclaimed ustad's.
