Salam friends i've been more of a reader of pak wheels. seeing this post since day One and being an owner of a Ravi piaggio 2014 i am writing my experience with this bike.
This my second bike. lots of things in the ravi piaggio disappointed me as the only comparison i was making with my previously owned honda cd 100 2012 Model.
Wobbling of tyres: it was very bad in start specially the front tire felt just like i was riding an over speed donkey :p. after showing it to the ravi centre they said that its a reason of poor balancing of rims...retained the bike for a whole day for the balancing of wheels no change at all..at the first glance i assessed that it was deformed tire but the ravi centre in order to avoid the claim of warranty still blamed the poor balance. Disappointed, i thought of what i should have done before. i had the rear stock tire of honda cd 100 lying around in my store room and planned to change the front tire with the old less used 2.75-18. showed it to a mechanic of tires who took 2 hours of mine to balance both the wheels and replaced the front.this is where i felt the change yeah.. it was smoooth.problem one solved on my own cost..!!
Fuel tank leakage: from the spot where fuel gauge base is fixed..it was really annoying...How ever problem solved by the mechanic under warranty
Loose handle bar: another annoying factor that made my experience and beliefs worse upon ravi assembly line in the factories. at least its something that should be checked in the factory not just like putting the things together untied. problem solved the first day.
Chain was making sound: on 4th and 5th gear as it was touching some unidentified spot. upon showing it to the mechanic and after minor adjustments the sound is still there but first it used to make sound during the acceleration..and now at deceleration at 4th and 5 th gear.its really annoying..IF any body facing the same chain sounds found a solution plz share it here.
NOTE:After initial 3 days of riding, when i took the bike with a list of all these problems, the ravi showroom manager had look around the bike and said.. bhai mai to kehta hun koi achi offer dekh kar ye bike bech do aur meri mantay ho apnay liay honda pridor le lo you must be kidding me. thats where i had a little sympathy with ravi piaggio. and decided to give it time and resource.
Now after the first oil change on 450 kms and current status at 850 kms i am feeling that yes this is the bike of my choice. and due to scarcity of the ravi piaggio..its a real eye catcher bike in peshawar.
One more thing the handle attached to the chassy of the bike used for lifting the bike for double stand is welded from one end while the other end is left un welded hmmm.
thanx for giving your precious time for reading this post.i just shared my experience with this bike thanx
