    Exclamation Mark X Problem!!!!!

Guys we're facing some sort of milege problem in markx.

With a full tank it gives around 9km inside city and on highway it is giving us 13-15km/L. And we're fairly happy with it.

But the weird thing is when ever the tank is less then 50% or lets say less then 40%, the consumbtion dramitcally decreases. It starts to give 5-7 km/L inside city and around 10 on highway.

We first noticed it upon reaching Islamabad. The average starts to decrease.
Car gets its air filter cleaned after every 15 days.

    Its 2005 250G.

bro replace ur fuel filter aur put it an injector cleaner in ur car

this car has a 2 step fuel filter like there is, at homes.
the filter cannot be just seen and told if its ok or not because the upper granuale part is blackish in a new filter as well and ofcourse in the second stage the filter does not get dark.
milegaes saroon ki peechay hui hoti hain so juz change da fuel filter...

and put an injector cleaner in it... but only the genuine one... not the 200 wala from pumps..
its a bit expensive... but trust me its worth it

    yeh probably bad fuel...
the fuel injectors are closed/blocked due to the pooor fuel
the injector cleaner will solve it
the genuine ones around 1400 - 1600, i guess so

Yes its a liquid that is poured in the fuel tank and when the fuel passes through injectors, the deposits on the walls of the injector are cleaned.
@airo, which fuel do you use?

I'm having similar issues with my V6- granted it's not a Mark X or a Toyota, but I think the fix might end up being similar. I'm supposed to get 25-26 mpg on the highway, but I haven't gotten above 22.

Just start by performing whatever routine maintenance hasn't been done. Plugs, oil change, transmission flush, etc. The injector cleaner isn't a bad idea either since Pakistani fuel can't be trusted in the first place.

Yes I agree. and the super petrol is always contaminated with dirt, so its better to use only hi octane.
But then again only like 10% people do.
