Default 2004 Toyota Prado TX A/C issue

My car is 3400 cc Petrol. When the compressor turns the cooling is great but it seems like it trip before it reaches the appropriate cabin temperature. Secondly, the gap between the compressor turned off and then turning back on is delayed so much that normal or uncooled air starts to come from the went.

I would appreciate if some one can shed some light on this.

The proper way to check this problem is to measure the low and high side pressures first, and then evacuate the system to see if it holds a vacuum. If the dessicant/dryer/filter is more than ten years old, it should be changed. Only then should the system be recharged with the specified amount of refrigerant and the correct oil. Usually there is a sticker under the hood with this information. Also, checking the shim clearances in the magnetic clutch relay can be a good idea if it is not working properly.

Please get your coompressor checked. I think the magnetic coil of the compressor is weak and needs changing.

Thank you all for your help. I have gotten the gas checked and it is full. The head pressure was checked as well and it was ok as per Toyota dealer. I will get the shim clearance and magentic coils checked.

Thank you all for your help. Will update the progress.
