    Salam,

I have recently bought toyota Passo and really enjoying it . Although its fuel average is awesome but for my satisfaction i want to change its Engine oil , Oil Filter , Air Filter , Transmission Oil.

Please provide guidance against the following mentioned questions.

Any good Mechanic here in Islamabad and Rawalpindi ?
Best Fuel Station in Islamabad ?
Parts like Oil filter , Air Filter and Brake Pads for Passo have any similarity with Vitz Parts ?
Any one have user manual/ Repair Manual of toyota Passo or 1KR-FE engine ?

Kindly guide me in this Regard .

    Thankx...

3- Toyota T4 transmission Oil make sure filter service is done
4- Brake pads are different from VITZ but available in local market don't change unless required i recommend brake service from Toyota 3S
5- Toyota 1KRFE Original air filter available from Toyota 3S

    Recommendations:
Get Throttle clean for better fuel average, don't replace STOCK rims

if you want to change tires possible combinations are

    155/80 30 front , 32 Back

    175/60 28 front , 28 back

Passo common problems / faults and remedies

1- If car vibrates while brakes pressed in cold conditions possibly engine
    mount rubber touching frame

    remedies:replace engine mount

2-If Rattling on bumpy roads due to steering colum play

remedie:can be tight after opening steering assembly cross

3- Brake sound ,remedies: it's Normal avoid it.

4- AC not cooling at Idle speed.
    remedies:increase RPM up to 200

Where to get this "2-If Rattling on bumpy roads due to steering colum play" fixed in Islamabad/Rawalpindi? What language would these mechanics understand to describe this problem?

Dear Experts, I have a small question. I recently had bought a Belta 1KRFE 1000cc almost 59000 driven but in good condition. I was not sure which oil was used in this before. I poured Zic A+ 5W20 and now confused whether it will hurt my card if the thicker one was being used in it previously? Should I keep using this or should I get this changed immediately? Your reply on this will be highly appreaciated.

    Hello Dr.Smiley,

I recently bought a Toyota Passo 2009, can you guys tell me that what is the amount of engine oil required for this car. I have changed the oil at shell and and they poured a 3 Liters bottle in it 2 days ago, yesterday I checked the mobile oil strip in the morning and the level was 70-75 %, is this normal or the capacity is more and oil was stolen or something?

sir if the engine is 1KR-FE (1000 cc) then it will take 3.5L as total with oil filter.
how about the transmissions? these are CVT or AT ?

by the way, the recommended viscosity for this engine is 0w-20.
But you can choose 0w-30 (ZIC OW) which would be the ever best choice for it.

Thanks jibran, I found my engine's manual on the internet, they have mentioned that if changing oil filter you should pour 3.1 liters. and in that manual the normal level is 75-80% of the two points on the dipstick.

Jibran can you tell me that how you know that you need to change the transmission oil? I have noticed that the milage have decreased remarkably . I am not sure that whats the reason. Can you tell me that which things need to be checked for milage?

    Catalytic Converter cleaning?
    Transmission oil change?
    or Spark Plugs?

Also if you can share a few tips on how to know that when these three things require attention?

Dear u can check the gear oil from the gear oil dip stick if it smells like burning of something than it must be changed, mine was fine but i changed it to be on safer side from toyota rawal motors
i never tried to open catalytic converter neither i allow every mechanic to do their experiences on my car, if ur car is underpowered and the issue is not resolved from tuning and changing of plugs than u can have a look at the cleaning of the catalytic converter
my spark plugs are the genuine so the mechanic told me not to change as the last for 1lackm.
my car mileage was reduced when a normal enercon person tuned my car i wasnt satisfied than i took my car to toyota they did the tuning and the car was in orignal shape again. Secondly for better mileage try to drive the car on lighter foot

Thanks for the detailed reply Jibran.

Okay I will make sure that catalytic converter is the last thing to check. Its my first car that I am responsible for taking care of it , so can you tell me that how much the Toyota Rawal charge for Transmission Oil and Tuning?

I will check the transmission oil thing right away Thanks once again.

Default Zic worst engine oil for passo

Recently I chaned my passo's 2012 engine oil to zic x7 A+.because many people say it is the best oil out their in the local market..after using it for around 100km I noticed few things.stated as follow
    1) the average km/l droped by 4 km/l from 22 to 17.6km/l with light foot.
    2) cold start time increased by a minute or so.
    3) over all lack in performance.
Let me assure you that the oil was 100% original and I always use orignal oil filter and changes air filter every time.so thier is only 1 change the Zic X7 A+ oil.in my opinion it is a average oil with inflated price tag and exceptional market campain and monopoly.i would recommed all the passo users witk 1KR engine to use any good branded oil with API 10W40.like helix,PSO carient havoline..in my view Eneos 10w40 from Nippon is the best oil available in Pakistan with a reasonable price tag.and you buy it with peace of mind that it is going to be the genuine product from japan designed for JDMs, not some stupid cheap oil from korea.

BTW before using ZIC I was using PSO carient 10w40 bought from pso i9 station and was getting an average of around 20 to 22 in city with light foot.
