today while checking coolant level i open the low side service cap of ac and found a leak in it ,,,,,,,the valve init is leak ,,,,,,,,,,,how it gets a leak ,,,,,,,,,,i am just shaken , ,,,,,,,,,,i was planning to add some refregrant in it ,,,,,,and now i have to remove all the refregrant and then change the valve and also change the dryer ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

helo pws , just sharing some of the last things , tomorrow will charge the refregrant in my 07 cultus , today buy few things for that , a key to open valve core , refregrant and insualtion , valve core got free for a shop from where i buy comp , tomorrow if i got some spare time then will do a compression and oil pressure test aswell

helo PWs , just sharing the experence of my 07 cultus which hava leak low side service valve and also running on low refregrant,,,,,,,,,well that leak valve problem is solved with out any mess,,,,,,,,,,,i just press the valve needle , regregrant along with oil comes out and cleans the valve and leak gone ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,after that i add some refregrant,,,,,,,,,,,,the ambient temp was 32 DC and acording to that the low and high side must be around 45-55 and 250-270 psi , but i was getting a low side reading of 20psi , mean system is low on regregrant , before adding refregrant i noticed that the low side reading fluctuate with the intervals of about 1 min ,,,,,,,,,i smell some problem in system but the vent temp was around 11 DC ,,,,,,,,,,,,any how i add some refregrant and stoped when the low side reading reached to around 40 Psi ,,,,,,,,,,,,,at that time that problem become prominent,,,,,,,,high side (head pressure) start increasing as i pull the acclerator pedal ,,,,,,,on 1500RPM the readings were all ok ,,,,,,but as soon as i push the pedal the head pressure starts increasing and at one stage it touches 450 PSI ,,,,,,,,at that point i feel that the comp is feeling a tremendous amount of load and belt and clutch start slipping ,,,,,,,i atonce switches off the comp,,,,,,,,i guess the problem is in suspension valve ,,,,,,,and also the whole system need flushing ,,,,,,,,,so pulled out every thing including comp and flush the system with carb cleaner , tomorrow will change the expansion valve as well ,,,,,,,,,the refregrant in the system is discharged in air which is totally illegal but we have no other option ,,,,,,,the problem is that the oil in the comp is also discharges along with the refregrant ,,,,,,,,so i pull the comp out and remove all the remaing oil in the comp ,,,,,,,,measure it and find there is just 20ml oil left in the comp ,,,,,,,,,i flushed all the system so am sure no oil is there is the condencer and evaporator ,,,,also need to replace the dryer as well,,,,,,,,,so now the problem is with the exzact quantity of oil to put back,,,,,,,,,there is no info of oil quantity on the back side of comp label so now i have to use a general rule for adding oil in the system ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,General rule of thumb on a completely dry system it usually amounts to 3 to 3.5 ounces of oil per pound of refregrant ,,,,,,,,the amount of refregrant written on the back side of evaporator and on the top of condencer is 450g ,,,,,,,,convert it in to pound and we get 0.99 pounds,,,,,,,,,,mean i have to add 3 to 3.5 ounce of oil,,,,,,,,,,,,converting into to ml and we get ,,,,,,,,88.7ml to 103.5ml,,,,,,,,i will add around 70ml more ND-8 oil in comp,,,,,,,,i hope this rule will work,,,,,,,,,,,
one more thing,,,,,,,,,,,,this problem of high head pressure only become worst when i fully charge the system,,,,,,,,,,and on low charge it was working fine but still have high head pressure ,,,,,,,,,,,i belive i some mechanic faces the same peoblem then he simply fil the system with low gas and every thing will be ok from his side and coustomer has no idea whats going inside the system,,,,,,,,,so be carefull and try to read the guages on your own while you overhaulling your car ac system,,,,,,,as its a very very vital part in the whole car and especially in the upcomming summer season ,,,,,,,,,,

i am confused about the type and quantity of comp oil for sanden ,,,,,,,,,,this comp is fitted by paksuzuki in cultus and its first time its been pulled out ,before that it was running with factory filled gas,,,,,,,,,,,SP10 i cant find in market so can i use ND8 oil in it

once you take out the SP10 you can fill with ND8, and the regular rule of thumb is OK, anyway seems that the expansion valve is really bad, at 450 psi I suspect the safety valve should have blown out. I dont see the valve on the compressor though.

anyway - buy a genuine sanden or denso TXV - not imitation, the model no. should be printed on the valve bulb itself.

this is the general problem with our commercial business owners in Pakistan. They think everyone else is crazy or stupid or both, and they force their lack of knowledge on others.

In honesty I believe that he just had a small shop for 20 years because if someone started a business of A/C parts 20 years ago he would probably have a huge business of A/C parts by now.

what you say about that ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

the oil capacity is never on the compressor, its always on the sticker fixed to the car that has the refrigerant capacity printed on it, because different cars have different length of systems but may require the same pump volume.

your other calculations are correct - but I would suggest you try to flush the lines and other items with acetone, it really cuts through A/C sludge. I have revived a few A/Cs with it. Just be very careful with it as it can really burn your skin.

Hello PWs , just sharing some of the very last things ,,,,,,,,,,,,,tomorrow will charge the 07 Cultus AC , but now its all fitted back and all leak test has been done and tomorrow will charge gas ,,,,,,,,,,,but wont share any pic as all the process is same ,,,,,,,,,,,here i instal the cabin air filter , very easy to instal and it can be easily pulled out for cleaning ,,,,,,,,,,just check the pic ,,,,,,,,,,,will share the finished car pic which i take months before ,,,,,,,,,,,
