This is part of my Travel 2012 campaign.
Siri Bang Mountain is the highest mountain of Haripur region. Its altitude is comparable to Pir Sohawa and it also receives snowfall.
On the 19th of January I decided to explore this area. My Collegue is a local of that area and very familiar to the terrain so we set off without worry.
The road to Siri Bang Mountain leads from Rehana village in Haripur which is the hometown of General Ayub Khan. Also there is a small dam there called Bhuttri Dam which also worth the visit if u r there and if interested in fishing……
The road is metalled leads form Sera-e-Sala on the main Abbottabad road up till Rehana village but then turns into a jeep track and requires a high ground clearance. We had a Corolla 82 which took us up till Gali after which we decided to walk as there was snow……
The total distance of top from Islamabad via Haripur is around 120 kms……
The top is flat and there are a few agricultural settlements there called Danna Masori, Lakaab and Top Danna etc…..
