I travelled last Sept in Corolla 2011 and it was KHI-RYK-MLT-LHE-ISB-MRE-Nathia Gali-MRE-ISB-LHE-RYK-KHI
- Roads are just fine until KHI-HYD- 6/10, Good until Noriabad, better until HYD
- HYD to Khairpur- around 300kms is 8/10
- Khairpur to Ubaoro (End of Sindh) - around 130kms is pathetic, 4/10
- All Punjab is excellent, both n5 and m2
--If you are w/ family, its good for you to stay at near Rahim yar Khan (Faran Hotel) which is pretty good value for money (2500-3000PKR/night) If you are just men, can travel uptil LHE/ISB in 20-24 hours.
--If you are on CNG which you are, it takes like 2 to 2.5 hours more than for petrol, cng stays and etc. check for cng's strike. match you dates w/ it.
--It would be nice to have 2500-3000PKR worth of HI-Octane. It would be healthy for your car. Can mix it with normal one aswell 2000+1000 for going MRE-Nathia Gali..
--You can find good hotels are highway aswell, don't remember but yeah there are good and also on M2. Home food would be the best. Chips, biscuits, plenty of water. Dont take banana's with you, you can buy cheap one near or before Moro or Sakrand
--Keep torching wire, a rope to tow and a 2-3 feet of wire, big bottle for emegency and complete tool box
--If you wish to stay are RYK, you can leave at 7, and if you dont wish to stay at RYK and go straight to your destination w/ just food and tea breaks, u have to move by 4am.
--No Security issue travelling to HYD before sunrise. Hyd and onwards, u have to travel in daylight(Sunrises at 6 odd)
--Make sure u get ACLC NOC (ACLC office in Liaquatabad/Civil Lines i guess) and Highway code book (can get from post office). Pay tax, token on Windshield, tax reciept copy, Original NIC, License, Plates, Authority letter or Car front page
--Seatbealts for both front passengers.
--Shades for sunshine
--Check motor oil, radiator for leaks, coolant would be better.
--service your radiator if required, if not, atleast get your AC Condenser and Radiator cleaned from auper auper se from service wala. Better AC performance.
--Check your tire pressure, 30 is reasonable for new tires, 28-29 is fine for summers, during long runs. Check wear and tear. Tire nossles for leak
--No need to rush, no need to race w/ others. wont make much difference on highways. 15-30 minutes and thats all.
--Make sure you stretch which u would as u are on cng.. if you feel dizzy, change driver immediately and dont try to be hero, lol.
--try to fill cng on 100km mark, your car would do 130-140km per refill or so if u are 4-5 ppl+stuff on board.
--You can go uptil 110 on N5 w/o tickets and at few points 70 where city is coming.
--130kph w/o tickets for m2 against 120 allowed.
--Police is usually after the slopes, checking for speeds such as Noriabad, kallar kahar(m2) where speed is limited to 70 and 30 respectively.
--Do not take E5(Lodhran-Khanelwal) which would say LAHORE on the board on the highway. Stay at n5(which would say MULTAN), its a better, clean road. it takes similar time but its 40-45kms longer than that Expressway5, petrol consumption is better on Multan road and not on E5
--You can travel on E5 in day, not in night, beams are really pain in axx.. its basically a trucks only road.
