Kodaikanal is a city in the hills of Dindugal District in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.Kodaikanal is referred to as the "Princess of Hill Stations" and has a long history as a retreat and popular tourist destination.It is not known who first used this name or what they intended it to mean.The word Kodaikanal is formed from the two Tamil words Kodai and Kanal. Kanal Kanal means seeing. By pronouncing with short Tamil o as Kodi, means Summer. Thus, Kodai Kanal means it is as good as getting water in desert for summer heat.

Was very difficult to leave such an enchanting environment, but we had to and walked to a nearby hotel for some much needed coffee. After coffee, was back on the road to Silent Valley View.Walking out the hotel...

Enroute to Silent Valley View , i took a pic of the Kodai Golf club course. The view looked nice!.

In addition to the sights, included in this tour are pics of the different kinds of Indians , cars local to the area , the enchanting private bungalows by the lake and all that interested me this trip.Cya later.

The diversity of peoples and automobiles in India always fascinates. Our tour guide , in the 1st pic is from Mizoram, settled in TamilNadu and the child is Indo-Tibetan(his friend's!). 1/3rd of Tibetans are now Indian citizens after the Tibetan war and live across the sub-continent!. In the 2nd pic, fellow tourists in our bus, Malayalee Muslims from neighboring Kerala state, at Bryant Park.
