I was getting bored so planned a one day trip from Karachi to anywhere
Had very few places in mind and finally decided for Makli and Keenjhar.
Also asked on pakwheels but since I posted it very late with only few hours remaining didn't get any response
So we were four people including me in a small car i.e Chevrolet Exclusive
Left Karachi on Sunday 23 Jan 2011 at 08:00 Am for Makli.
Stopped for Breakfast in between for around 40 mins (forgot the name of the location). It was one delicious breakfast. Parathas and Chanay were awesome and so was daal maash and tea :).
We were at Makli at around 10 30 Am.
Never been here before and personally I dont like historic places:P but this place is worth visiting specially for Karachiites since its only 2 hours drive from Karachi.
Visited all of the tombs and graves while we were there. Two of them were locked and we didnt bother getting them unlocked against chai pani
We left Makli at 11:15 and from Makli we went to Thatta and visited the mosque (Badshahi Mosque or Shah Jehan Mosque) built by Emperor Shah Jehan in 1647-49.
Then at around 11 45 Am we left the mosque and went to Keenjhar Lake ( the largest freshwater lake in Pakistan). We reached Keenjhar at around 12:30 after roaming here and there.
Was not interested in motor boating so hired a chappo wali boat:D and tried our luck with fishing (without any proper equipment). This is the first time I went this close to fishing.
But maybe because of weather and our inexperience we were unlucky but nonetheless we enjoyed the boat trip.
There is a small floating hut in Keenjhar which was pretty nice.
We didn't go to the tomb of Noori Jam Tamachi which is located in the middle of Keenjhar Lake.
At around 2:15 we left Keenjhar towards Thatta.
Had lunch at Thatta- Fish and Bhindi, lassi, gannay ka juice and rabri
and from there we started moving towards Karachi at around 3 Pm. At Karachi's entrance we were stopped by Rangers who after searching let us go without saying anything. They were very well behaved.
Reached home safe and sound by the grace of GOD at around 5:30 PM.
Did not carry a camera so had to do with mobile pics.
I have very few of them. Friends have the rest.
I will post some now and will post the rest later as I receive them.
Some pics now
My Car Chevrolet Exclusive which Mashallah is very trustworthy and gave me a mileage of 21 KM/ Litre at Rs 3.44 / KM on Petrol.

Starting my journey by seeing a pretty bad accident at Mehran intersection. Drove safely throughout the journey.

Makli Graveyard. One of the largest necropolis in the world.
