Help Required Lahore - Hunza Trip

Hi All - I have seen a lot of useful information here but still i couldn't actually find what i was looking for. There are few questions i'll appreciate if you guys take out sometime to answer them.

1. What is the total travel time from lahore to hunza.
   2.What route should be taken.
2. What are the best stops between to spend the night as i believe the total travel time is around 24 hours.
3. I'll appreciate if the route is explained in details as i am not aware of the routes of korakoram highway.
4. Route from naran should be explained as well

Lahore to Rawalpindi (Pir Wadahi Bus stand) - 5 hours plus
Board a NatCo. bus from bus stand for Giligit - 20 hours plus
Gilgit to Hunza - 4 hours plus

2.What route should be taken.

M2 Motorway and Karakoram Highway

3. What are the best stops between to spend the night as i believe the total travel time is around 24 hours.

If you are traveling with friends we completed Lahore Giligit stretch in one go.

If you are with family, have a mid way stay at Besham. Then Giligit and finally Hunza

4. I'll appreciate if the route is explained in details as i am not aware of the routes of korakoram highway.

Via KKH on VAN and bus - Lahore, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Batgram, Besham, Chilas, Gilgit and finally Hunza. From Batgram to Gilgit...route is dusty, barren and hot.

5. Route from naran should be explained as well

From Manshra turn toward Balakot. You can go as far as Naran on van. Beyond this you have to hire a jeep to cross Babusar pass and then drive down to Chilas on Karakoram Highway.

you should make up your mind for alteast 24 to 28 hours to reach Hunza with necessary stops..

you can go via either Naran - Chillas route by crossing babusar pass, or through KKH.. both have their beauties and attractions but to cross babusar pass u would require 4x4 depending upon condition this year as i read in news last year that during flood public transporters uses this route while coming from Gilgit to Mansehra.. which was little strange to me..

you can spend night in either Chillas or Gilgit.. but Chillas may be little hot.. from Gilgit it is around 2.30 to 3 hours drive..

for better road guidance.. i suggest u do some search to get some road Maps from net.. or i think u can also try to buy from some book shop..

Pindi-Abbotabad-Mansehra.. from mansehra go all the way on KKH... via Besham Daso chilas gilgit and hunza... seedha road ha aik road ha....

hmmm Well driving isnt a problem. We'll be like 6 people all drivers so shifts won't be a problem for driving. And i am not planning to take a straight journey either i am planning to make a night stop before that. So what spot u suggest for the night do not suggest naran. I have been there so many times.

Road condition from chilas to gilgit is not gud.So expect delays.
Babusar pass is just opened but no one has crossed it yet so no confirm news that it's open all the way till chilas.APV can't cross babusar pass or agar zour zabadasti kara kaye cross karwa bhi liya tou phir woh kuch or cross karne ki condition mai nahi rahaye gi..
Better way is to go via KKH if u want to go on ur own vehicle.
last month it took 32 hrs for a frd to reach gilgit from lhr via KKH

Sir, KKH beyond Thakot is in bad shape till Raikot bridge. From Raikot onwards till Khunjerab Pass its in even worst condition due to expansion work being carried on by the Chinese. So basically joy ride ends effectively at Thakot.

then its better to go via Naran Babusar pass.. atleast scenic to hai na.. weather will also be good.. but not sure if it is okay to take APV on this route..
