My family had done this route as recently as last year. For the others, it was a first of a kind road trip experience. So we all agreed that whatever plans we had made would be altered as we progressed as we went along our journey. We would make as many stops as required for; fuel, call of nature and for tea - especially whenever one of the drivers was tired or sleepy. After all we were not on a race against time and wanted to enjoy the journey as much as the destination itself.

July 3 – Karachi to Bahawalpur
July 4 – Bahawalpur to Lahore
July 5 – Lahore to Islamabad
July 6, 7, 8 – Islamabad to Naran
July 9 & 10 – Naran to Islamabad
July 11, 12, 13 – Islamabad to Nathiagali/Bhurban
July 14 & 15 – Bhurban to Lahore
July 16 – Lahore to Sadiqabad
July 17 – Sadiqabad to Karachi

As we had done on our earlier trips, we had packed a good deal of home-made sandwiches, picked up plenty of snack packs and water & juices to keep the young and the young at heart travelers satisfied.
