The mini convoy began the return journey at about 9am on July 16 and drove to Sadiqabad for an overnight stay. Here are some random photos...
Okara Toll Plaza up ahead...
Fields of gold...
...and Dewan-e-Khas Restaurant opening soon. .
Miles & miles of agricultural farmlands (cotton), Mashallah!
Mango plantation.
Staying well within the speed limits while passing through populated areas/towns...
We drove into a dust storm close to Bahawalpur.
We reached Sadiqabad at about 8pm and spent the night at the Welcome Guest House (Water Supply Road, tel: 068 5803784, 0300 3340518, 0302 86702075). Big rooms with 2 double beds each, nice clean accomodation. Rs. 1800 per night.
The next day we left the guest house just before 9 am...a long drive ahead of us. Also thinking about the Sindh Police and the crossing at Kot Sabzal.
A landmark in Sadiqabad.
Surprisingly the checkpost at Kot Sabzal was unmanned so no worries at that point...some random shots on the way.
Plenty of juicy khajjees in the area...
Banana plantation...
These empty trailers on their way back to Karachi after offloading their cargo upcountry.
A tractor trolly loaded with juicy khajees headed for the market.
Approaching Rohri...
Acres and acres of date palm tree plantations...
