Visit of neelum valley ajk june 2012

Last week i have visited neelum valley along with my 5 friends (kashif, noman, mohsin, sohail & faisal).
Our journey start from lahore railway station to rawalpindi. For rawalpindi there were lot of options for travelling were available but we prefer rail to add some thrill and adventure in our journey. Our journey start on 08-06-12 (friday) of initially 4 members (me, mohsin, noman & faisal) left for pindi 2 remaining members have to join us on saturday @ muzafarabad. In our journey we visited muzafarabad, peer chinasee, kutton, sharda, kail, arang kail & tao butt. We used a rented pajero for this purpose. We paid rs. 2500 / day excluding fuel to jeep driver. Total expenses were rs. 18000/ head. Cameras used in this journey 4 nikon d-90 & 1 sony cyber shot.

I have a few questions.

• How about the road condition Keran onwards. Can one go on car till Kel?
• How much fuel is normally consumed from Kell to Taobutt?
• How long does it take to get to ArrangKell from Kell and how tuff is the hiking?
• How much was the hotel rent?
• Was the track to Shounter pass open?

Road condition till sharda is average some good and some bad patches
Fuel approx. Rs. 15000 from Muzafar Abad to Tao Butt & back muzafarabad
From Kel to Arang Kel it take 2 hours tough hiking but with few breaks u can do it
Hotel In Muzafarabad We paid 2600 for 2 doublw beds and 2 mattress (Royal Continental Hotel @ Neelum Road) very good hotel.
In Peer Chinasee no hotel we stayed in a room given by us by some govt. official through a dhaba owner we paid them Rs. !200/=
@ Kutton we were unable to get room in Govt. Gust House & we stayed in a hotel in Kutton Bazar (Mountain Inn Guest House) we gave him 1600 for 2 rooms owner Mr. Shamim is very good and caring person. One of our colleague forget his camera there and he sent it back by TCS.
@ Sharda all hotel were booked so we have to stay in a average hotel name (New Shards Guest House) we paid him Rs. 1200 for 2 rooms but hotel is below average.
@ Kel we stayed at govt. motel we booked it from muzafarabad they charges us Rs. 3500 for 2 rooms rooms and meals were good.
@ Tao but hotel is available but it is not good so we stayed @ Army Camp just before Tao Butt u have to give ur ID cards there to Army. When they were collecting our ID Card they offer us resident and meals @ their camp. They Charged us Rs. 2500/= for room and very nominal charges for Excellent Food.
Route for Shounter was open in fact another group was going there and we discuss with them lot & they were also pakwheeler they will post their pics soon. Forgot his name.

@ Asifcae u r right but major cost was travelling we paid 5000 for Pindi to muzafar abad & Rs. 2500 per day to jeep driver excluding fuel then we hired a hiace to reach Kutton as road was block due to bridge was collapse in mid way forget the name of village he charge us Rs. 4000 & on our journey back to Muzafarabad our jeep got out of order & we paid Rs. 7000 to a hiace from Sharda to Muzafarabad spent night there Paid hotel rent & aur hum nay khul kay ayashee kee. Only 4 members paid 2 were guests.
