I went on an amazing road trip, my first visit to Rawalakot in Azad Kashmir. My wife and I along with my dear friend’s family (who came to Islamabad by road) went on this amazing 2 day/2 night excursion covering Rawalakot, Banjosa and Toli Peer. The weather was just what the doctor had ordered and the sights absolutely mesmerizing. The drive up to Rawalakot was what i really had not expected. I felt I was in familiar surroundings...often noticed in the drive up to Nathiagali. Tall pine trees, thick forests, peaks & valleys and of course winding roads...aahh absolutely amazing. Rawalakot is this place in Azad Kashmir that is still to a great extent not commercialised as are Murree and Nathiagali, with the similar surroundings. While there, we were treated to some local cuisine at a friend’s home. Had tea with fresh milk (no seriously real fresh milk – pl use your imagination) and took in some amazing breath taking sights to simply recharge my internal batteries.
The drive up to Toli Peer was challenging and as we got closer we noticed that the whole area was engulfed in thick cloud cover and the only thing I could see was the rear end of the car in front of us. I will now let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy!
