A few weeks ago, I took advice from fellow PW members regarding my Cholistan trip in this thread.
The trip was pretty successful. We were 10 cousins and we hired a Hi-Roof for the journey. It was a 3 day trip and we visited the following places:
Day 1 (Friday 15th): Left Lahore at around 7 AM. Reached Bahawalpur Bypass and then to Samma Satta (A small town/village near Bahawalpur) at around 2 PM, then we spent about 4 hours there visiting Samma Satta Railway Loco Shed, Guava orchard, Mustard & sugarcane fields. Night stay was at Bahawalpur BISE guest house.
Day 2 (Saturday 16th): Got a bit late leaving for Head Panjanad because of the rain. Left Bahawalpur at around 10 AM and reached Panjanad Headworks at around 12:15 PM. Spent about couple of hours there enjoying the cool breeze and then started the journey towards Derawar. From Uch Sharif market, we bought chicken for BBQ. Due to shortage of time, we couldn't visit the shrines at Uch. Reached Derawar at about 5:15 PM right when the paraglider came crashing down. Immediately setup our camps. There was no dust at all, thanks to the rain overnight. People were cruising with their all type of vehicles. Then we had BBQ, bonfire, cards, seen the fireworks, some bhangra etc and finally called it night at around 1:30 AM.
Day 3 (Sunday 17th): Got up around 7:30 AM. Then enjoyed the rally for few hours and then proceeded towards Derawar Fort. It was closed by military personnel as their families had to visit. Cursing our fates, left Derawar at around 11 AM and reached Bahawalpur. Had Lunch and then started journey towards Lahore at around 4 PM. Finally reached Lahore at 12 AM.
Will attach the pictures from next post. A special thanks to @Libra @ehalin for their help in planning the trip.
