11 lacks is a good budget bro. As you have two options in mind, I won't distract you much.
I- Cultus:
-Cheap build quality=inexpensive low quality spare parts.
-Old school engine=Well understood by local ustaads, less hp for more cc, reliable and time tested engine.
-15 years old shape=No safety features, lacks basic things such as ABS, airbags, can prove fatal sometimes due to low quality material used for the body.
-Excellent resale value=Cultus is a well received car in the market. It won't be hard to sell it in a day if you ever need urgent cash.
-End of production cycle=Rumours are that PS is going to halt the production of cultus from 2016 and will introduce an alternative soon, so you would have to go for the cheap quality fake spare parts after the production ends, which can be a serious issue as those parts don't last for more than six months in most cases, same reason for the decline of Alto and Coure on our roads. There is literally no quality check for the aftermarket spares, and anyone can sell you a life threatening part for your car at an attractive price.
-Practical= It's periodic maintenance is dirt cheap and it gives an excellent mileage on CNG which is the preferred fuel of our local populace but it will not last long as the country is already facing a shortage of gas reserves and it would be ethically wrong to indulge in the exploitation of our natural reserves. It's as good as a 660 JDM on petrol if you get a euro-II, but with time the mileage will decrease to a notable level as the engine start burning the factory seals and gets in the hands of your trusted Ustaad. Not even the dealership can bring back the mileage you'd get from the first 5000km back and after 20,000km it'd be more or less same as the older EFI version.
-Value for money=The company is literally trying to kill it's own market with a far better counterpart in the shape of the infamous Wagon-R.
But nothing beats the mentality of Pakistanis, on one hand they need a practical daily runner hatchback and on the other hand they need a car with the looks of a Lamborghini Murcielago. Wagon-R is cheaper and far better with an extremely fuel efficient engine under the hood and a huge interior space, and in my opinion, the shape is actually more of a family car. I guess Paki Parents should stop listening to their teenage sons who expect to hook up with some Chika and take her out in a sporty cultus instead of saving his parents money and his time that he could spend with his books and then get a real sports car and hook up with some real ladies. I'm still in my teenage and I know we are all stupid.
II-JDM:
-Build quality=Exceptional
-Fuel efficiency=Exceptional
-Maintenance=Periodic maintenance is cheap but other problems are a bit tacky to handle, there's only a hand full of mechanics who can understand their mechanism.
-Spare Parts=High quality original Parts as no one can make those futuristic parts here in Pakistan. But they're extremely expensive.
-Resale=Resale is actually better than many local cars, especially in Big cities as people prefer them over PKDMs these days.
-Practicality= their practicality is more of a question mark these days as they cost a lot even on a small problem, like the side mirrors of a 1000cc cost more than those of a New civic.
-Design=Some people consider them ugly, but I think they're beautiful, specially a few of 'em.
The options you have in JDM are:
-Passo 1000c 2010+
-Vitz 1000cc 2nd gen, clean
-Mira 660cc 2012+
-Alto 660cc 2012+ extremely clean.
well I won't suggest you the last two as their engines are too small but it your commute is based more on a city drive than they can prove really efficient, specially Mira. But their parts are a hard find compared to Toyota 1000cc 1KR-FE and this specific engine is well understood by the local mechanics due to its long existence in Pakistan. Note that no other car from that segment has been received well in our market.
___IMO go for a JDM as they're more reliable and better daily runners compared to if compared to Cultus._____
