Salam all.i just wanted to share my experience with after market intake whihc i used on my honda fit hybrid.the reason why i imported is becuase this car uses oil bases filter whihc is rather very expensive.Rs4500 per filter.you can use normal cheap ones but i am talking about honda recommendations. As company says to change it after 10,000 Km so i thought i will have to chnage it after 2 oil changes.but even after 1st oil change it was so dirty.so i thought instread of buying 4500 Rs filter every oil change why not import a K&N filter which is washable and reusable and is for life time.so i imported and an after market intake also.costed me RS 27000.Its USA based company HPS short Ram intake with K&N oil filter but i did one mistake.as there was no specific filter for hybrid so i imported the filter of normal Honda fit and thought it will work.it did fit accurately but the ECU showed CHECK engine light after few runs. i reset the ecu many times but again after some time error comes. with scannenr the code was"too rich air fuel mixture"So my advice that modern Honda ECU are very smart.even a small change in air flow rate etc and they will throw a yellow light at you.So my advice untill you are importing exact model part for your car dont risk it.or use some tuning soluton for your new bolt ons.I have now imported AEM-FIC for tuning and a turbo kit for my fit.so for me it wont trouble any more fo me.but you people do watch it when importing after market engine parts especially performance parts
these lifetimes filters are crap, there is no such thing, and the only way they give improve airflow is by having bigger holes in the element meaning more dirt and debris can pass through, maybe some debris knocked out your MAF and you may need a new one now. its best to not mess around with factory specifications. if these were really so good you would see porsche, bmw etc installing them in cars where they follow extremely long intervals in servicing. stick to the original product, and for your existing check engine light did you note the error code before clearing? or simply disconnected the batteries? disconnecting battery trim IMO doesnt work on this or more modern cars you'll have to fix the fault.
Well in order to compenate extra amount of air induced you will have to Install after mkt piigy to adjust atleast AFR so its better to stick wth stock air filter as hybrids are not meant for such mods,
i reset the ecu with obdII scanner.still CEL came.i have imported piggyback AEM fic.ans a turbo.i will update when installes
what code was the scanner showing for check engine light maybe we can help,
hmm turbo on a hybrid should be interesting how you integrate all that with honda's IMA
i have uninstalled the aftermarket filter and the CEL is gone.car runs fine now.but man she ran like a beast on HPS SRI.and sound was so gorgeos but na thi hmari qismat btw GP4 have mugen muffler already.it also sounds amazing.thanks azaam.bhatti for offering your help.JazakAllahHonda IMA operates in conjunction with car ecu.ahh i dont have words to make you understand but it will work inshaAllah.i already did istakhara and it turned very well.first my intention was to supercharge it.that was easy but i did istkhara and i was guided to turbo route.

How did you import - I mean if you ordered it on some website etc ? I want to import similar items for my Vezel.
W.salam bhai.i imported it via maxpowermotorsports. its safe that way. mine is for sale BTW as i have k20 swaped my honda fit.meanwhile i discoverted that if we vent PCV valve into air,the CEL no more comes but STFT's are rich still, like 18-20.so car still consumes more fuel on after market intake
Best buck for these cars considering our environment are HKS Hybrid Air filter drop in type and HKS Oil Filters. Oil bathed filters not suitable for our dusty enviornment. Iv been using them in both our GP4 and GP5 Fits. Best thing is car use to knock on local filters if Super poured but now it isnt as Finding Hi Octane is hell of a luck. How to import them? Google it and you are going to find many links I got ones myself from Singapore.
I also want that air filter HKS super hybrid air filter if you have one more so contact me please 03122850062 I tried so much to find that air filter in Pakistan...
order it from www.RHDjapan.com I have ordered many things. But custom duty is pure luck. Some time you get 3000 and some time 12000 RS customs etc etc.I ordered HKS mushroom type(triple filtering) for My K-RZ Turbo k24a3 and it costed me RS 34000 when dollar rate was 114.(i pad 14000 customs on it) Now it will cost near 40k+. Even sunlight cannot pass it.This view was taken when sun is just behind the filterIts foam filter element is detachable. Just remove it. wash with soap/serf. Dry and put again.
On my Honda Fit Gp4,Now also k24a3 Turbo,i am using AEM dryflow filter imported from USA.Because there was no space(BOV directly in front of it) for HKS type of filter here as you can see in below picture. So i had to route it to side and use AEm dry flow filter. This is bit cheaper. Costed near 20k.
