Well technically its more of the adjuster thing. But if the repair cost is around 50 percent or more then the current value of the car they don't repair it. The adjuster was my friend and I planned already that I will not drive this car once its fixed. I told him not to file for full loss/ totaled. Although it wasn't fault of either driver but living in New York city (already with high insurance premiums) with the total loss on your insurance history is something I never wanted... I fixed the car and then traded within week with brand new. The car in accident was a limited edition Wolfsberg Edition Jetta, with Turbo engine.
