I remember seeing @dms664 thread about him hitting a flock of jackals on the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway and damage that was caused. The only good thing out of that story was that he survived SA.
Last night while coming back from Islamabad, i came across 2 dogs on the motorway. The first one was just after the Hasanabdal Interchange on the straight bridge. The only reason why i was able to save it was because it stopped when it saw my car. Honestly I had no time to react. IT SAVED ITSELF.
The second one was just before the Swabi interchange. Was overtaking a Corolla when i saw it. It was standing in the fast lane. I turned into the middle lane immediately (without swerving too hard) and let go of the throttle. managed to keep a steady foot on the brake but thats when the dog decided to cross the darn road.
Told my sister to brace herself (thankfully the 2 of us are seat-belt freaks). There was nothing really one can do. If you brake too hard, the car behind will either crash into you or swerve avoiding you but end up crashing, or you will crash yourself if you turn the steering to hard.
Thankfully both of us were ok. Damage to the car was broken bumper, radiator, ac radiator, fog light and some tubing was missing too.
These accidents are becoming very common. While being towed, saw 3 other accidents, 2 of which were due to animal collisions and 1 I could not judge. Involved a corolla and some other cars.
