If what u r saying is true then Mehran is in fact a very safe car, coz even a small hit dents the whole body, so yeah full marks there for mehran for being 'energy absorbent' in crashes!! Get ur facts right, cars that crumble easy have poor build quality, period. I agree that old corolla's and old cars in general were more robustly built and had more metal than plastic in them and as a result were more durable. New cars are better in safety coz they have things like airbags and other designs to make sure that passengers and esp driver is safe in accidents. But what we see here, the bashed up city, is not a sign of excellent quality control by honda, but it simply underlines the fact that old cars were built heavy and had less damage to body on impact. If there was a new corolla in city's place then it would too have been bashed likely, not because their build quality is bad, but because in a war or metal vs plastic, the metal always wins! Hope u get what i mean.
