That won't stop speeders from going 120 km/h in a 45-60 km/h city zone.
What we really need is actual heavy fines for speeding, black points on licenses for infringements, and imprisonment for continued infringements. There should also be mandatory traffic school for all license applicants; most people with a license don't actually know how to drive on public roads, and they never learn.
It doesn't help that the speed limit is enforced only on the motorways, and a paltry 750 Rs at that. Its not enough to discourage the speeders; not enough to drill into their heads that what they are doing is wrong.
Idiots at my school used to hit 150+ km/h on the Islamabad and Express Highway at peak hours; they still do, and they have never been caught. One day, God forbid, they may end up like the car in this picture. Even worse, they may take some law abiding citizen with them. They will definitely be held accountable for this in the hereafter; its better that they be held accountable in this world, so that it doesn't come to that.
