Salam brothers!
This is my first post at this forum and I seek the suggestions of you veteran wheelers about upsizing wheels on my newly purchased Honda Civic. It has about 5000km on the odometer and I was very dissapointed with the grip of the factory fitted Euro Star tyres. I ve seen a few Civic with 17 inch rims and 225/45/R17 tyres and I was wondering if it was a good idea to make the massive jump in terms of width from 195/65R15 to 225/45/R17. The 17 inch rims look absoloutely gorgeous on the Civic and since my Civic is i-Vtec Prosmatec (not Oriel) it comes with steel wheels and cover only. I had planned on fitting alloy wheels but I m not sure if I should play it safe with the 15inch or make the leap to 17inch. There is no middle ground here :p. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I ve also heard that upsizing will affect the acceleration of the car, its not a huge concern for me but if the change is dramatic, I d like to know about it. Also, will getting thinner side walls give me more feel through the steering wheel as I feel its quite numb as compared to my Suzuki Swift. I havent been able to drive a Civic with 17 inch rims so I seek your help and experiences. Thank you
