Salaam to all my fellow MOTOGP fans all over the world!
The new 800cc regulations have shown which manufacturer was most prepared and which one was not.
Ducati was.
Honda was not.
Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki are almost all in the same league.
That is, they are good for third, fourth and fifth, after Ducati and Yamaha.
Rossi has a very good bike underneath him.
The Yamaha YZR-M1 is still a great package.
However Ducati seems to have the horsepower and Electronics management part worked out
better than any other factory team.
Ducati uses Magneti Marelli fuel and engine management systems.
Magneti Marelli is the supplier to Ferrari's F1 team and numerous others.
Fuel and engine metering Is extremely important in MOTOGP due to the total fuel restrictions imposed this year.
Last year MOTOGP bikes could have 21 litres of maximum fuel. This year it has been reduced to 19 litres.
So, whichever factory team is more efficient with their fuel management, will eventually have a better package.
Also, Ducati’s have a more aerodynamic shape which is why they have more top speed.
The next race tracks have shorter straights when compared to China or Turkey so Rossi will be much
closer this time.
That is not to take anything away from Casey Stoner who rode superbly.
