Default Suzuki GS-150 (Best bike in Pak)

    Hello Gentlemen,
After having done a lot of surfing of Pak Wheel Threads I felt appropriate to make a new thread for Suzuki lovers in general and GS-150 lovers in particular. This GS-150 is undoubtedly the best available street bike in Pakistani Market.
You all are requested to pl post the pictures of ur GS-150 and any usefull tips and modification recommendations for improvent in shape and performance. Till now I have always used Honda CG-125 but I tell you after having driven GS-150 it seems that I waisted my time and resources so far because there is hell of a difference in both bikes.
I am posting few pictures here for your easy refference and at the same time looking forward for the valuable comments, information and experiences from your side.

I don't think Storm's fuel tank and side covers are available in open market any more. You have to take a Storm to the showroom and they will replace it, (put the new one in and keep the old one with them), as per my info.
You can easily by ravi parts from their distribution center, just went to one in karachi (akber road) they are selling these parts, but at the moment due to shortage of parts he's giving me parts of diff color. so i said i'll be back after parts have arrived (mid nov).

regarding mobil oil issue, there will be 1000ml mention on that point where u can check the level of mobil oil, its recomended by the suzuki company. kindly elaborate your point to put 1200ml mobil oil in suzuki gs-150. this will help me and most of the gs-150 owners at pakwheels.com.....

How do i know if its time to change break shoe for my 150?

every time i feel the break to be soft, i tighten the bolts, but there must some indication that enough is enough and its time to change break shoe.

also if i do have to change the break shoe, should i go to suzuiki parts dealer or are there other options.

most companies dont give just one solid figure for the quantity of lube oil,, they just quote minimum and maximum range
e.g all chondas and honda 70 quotes the minimum range at 600ml and maximum at 800ml so u have the range ,, and all lubes for 70 are 700ml,,
reason for this is that after some use the oil level is reduced by small quantity to to many reasons as blow by whgere rings are weak or due to valves not making a proper fit with the valve seat thus allowing oil into combustion chamber to burn,, so if u put 800 ml and by the time u r about o change it the oil should have reduced to a usable limmit,,, thus minimising damage,,

hope u got the point,, for precise figures check ur bikes manual,,and i would recommend using maximum limit on bikes that have done much km's. for new a figure in between is ok..

there is a brake indicator telling when to replace ur brake shoe,,,for details check manual..that came with bike

for how much one shoiuld tighten the nut ,, its simple not enough to affect the free movement of wheel.. i.e when u r on double stand and rotate the wheels there should be no friction/sound frm braking and when u apply brake fully it should be impossible to rotate the wheel with hands,,and free play should be there,, means when u lightl press the brake paddle it should hardly start its braking action,,

allso after any rear brake adjustment adjust the brake light

I want to ask that at about 80 or 90kmph when just let go of the accelrator to brake or just scoot the bike make little pops while decelerating from like 7-8k i.e high rpms. I wana ask is this normal cz no other bike of mine does it

these pops are called back firing ,it occurs due to low petrol setting (lean mixture), normally, after tuning adjust ur mixture setting and hopefully it will go away

its not much used ,, the more km u put on it the more it will consume,,
all bikes do it to a minor extent,, the thing as u mentioned is to check it at regular interval according to the condition f bike,,
ziada purani/chali hovi bike k a rings perect fit nahi banayaim gaay cylinder wall ka sath so ziada oil consume hoga,,

I would like to add here that this pop corn popping type sound can be heard only when the engine is cool. After riding it for 10-15 minutes, that pop ups do vanish!

bigger engine, more sounds, that brings some unwanted ones too..

Well.. man.. as far as I am concerned, I prefer living 'by the book'. The manual of GS150 says 1000ml. I put 1000ml in it.

It was the Suzuki Official showroom guy (the most experienced one, they call him 150 specialist) who is more than 45-50 yrs old, shared his 'expert opinion' with me saying that GS150 should have a minimum of 1000ml and a maximum of 1200ml lube oil in its engine case. I filled it with 1200ml oil and motorcycle engine noise (and off course vibrations above 90kmh speed) reduced exponentially.

So I shared it with you guys, all 150 owners and lovers, to listen from you if any one of you has heard the same? ever?

I hope I was elaborative enough..
