    Default Project Suzuki GS 500

    Dear All,
Finally after a lot of search i bought myself Suzuki GS500 its 97 model and ISB registered. When i bought the bike its engine was good what bike needed was its full cosmetic restoration. Rear left indicator and cowl was broken so i planned to redo it fully. Bike was bought in Ramadan and disassembled in the same month but i was too occupied with office work and progress on bike was also very slow so couldn't upload the snaps. Its still in restoration phase so thought to share it with all of you but be patient because this might take some time. So, below are the snaps of the bike when i bought it, its tank was redone because of rust and stuff.

I am also trying to get my bike restored as close to original/stock as possible. and btw, it finally got started yesterday for the first time. the electrician did not install the router at correct angle, due to which at least one week was wasted. Now, it's in final stages.

First riding experience. I installed original gs 150 grips but they are too hard they caused alot of pain in my plams will change them suggestions are welcome. Rest tuning is required to get max pleasure out of it.

The genuine Japanese made accelerator cable that comes for a GS-500 is avl at the suzuki dealerships and costs around 2K, the GS150 one (Rs150) is really crappy and should be avoided. These kind of cost savings do effect the overall project finances but also adversely effect the quality of the end product. In some area, it's not a really good idea to save money

What's the profile of the rear tyre that you have installed, does not seem correct.

Its not about the cable its only the grip which is causing trouble. When you do a project like this then one must not take cost saving in account. Else all your efforts will go down the drain.
