Default Suzuki GS 150 / Yamaha YBR 125 [Rumors, news etc.]

Hello there, after being greatly inspired by fellow riders, I am going to buy a bike for myself. I tried most of the bikes and I'm very much keen towards purchasing a Suzuki GS 150 due to its looks and comfort.

I have also heard that Yamaha YBR 125 is going to launched in May, 2015 and it looks absolutely fabulous. However, I'm not sure if I should wait that long for it.

What my question is that is Suzuki GS 150 going to be updated or do you expect a new model will be launched anytime soon? I'm quite confused if I should purchase a bike right now or should I wait a bit longer, what do you think?

Well the thing is that you will find many people bashing on the GS 150. Well it's not well made, that's what I have heard. The side covers just drops down when you least expect while riding, there is comfort yes still it been here for ages and I don't think so Suzuki really pulled it quite well. Not to forget the resale.
Now The Yamaha, well yeah it might be good or just over priced plastic landing on the foot steps of Honda. 100k+ price tag for sure. But you get at least a new product on the road non the less. At least some thing that would be different.
About Honda, well yeah we all know what it is, let's just not go there.
The reboot of hero prince is there, if you consider that and that being well made this time. Stylish and comes with reasonable warranty and parts availability. They sold like hot cakes before ran out of production and coming back now with Rock solid head light quality we all know they are serious with the quality this time. Still back on resale because they might be picking up where they left.

Verdict: wait for the Yamaha and then decide, as you will know at that time about the price and quality.
Patience is virtue in this case, so take it slow as a friendly advice rather then having even slightly regret later.
Hope this clarified, other senior members can give a right direction and keep the fanboys out of it. Cheers.

New models are introduced latest by October/November of previous year, so the 2015 models are already in the showroom and the next model (2016) will be available after 8 to 10 months. If you expect something great happening in a month or two you should wait, otherwise buy it now.

Thank you for the detailed responses, much appreciated. I read somewhere that Suzuki might change their GS 150 model but I guess just a rumor plus no date or anything.

I'm looking forward to Yamaha at the moment but then again I'll have to wait 5 months. Also, what about Honda? Heard they are planning to launch something new.

I think I'll just wait another month to see if there is anything gonna be out soon.

If I remember correctly, I have been hearing about YBR 125 every year for the past few years.
They said it would be debuted in 2010. Then someone said it would in 2011 as you can read on the web. But 2011, 2012 and 2013 came and went. Now it is 2014 which is also almost over.

It is nothing bad to dream but the bike alone costs nearly $3000 in the Europe. Having it here anywhere to an affordable ballpark of 1.5 lacs for general Pakistanis is not only nonsense but impossible considering the loot-mar layout of our tax policies and import duties.

If I were you, I would get a GS 150. Good luck

In my opinion you should get a bike now if you badly want it. GS OR RP both are good options.

GS150 is in Pak Suzuki lineup since... Like late 90's. I don't think they've any intention to replace it anytime soon. Just like CG125 and CD70 are in AHL lineup since mid 80's! Suzuki 'MIGHT' update GS somewhere close to year 2075!!!
YBR? Ah, yes the famous YBR! To me YBR = "BIG FOOT"! YBR is a mythical bike! It exists only in people's minds... Or in Europe!
