I was able to activate this option after installing blue cluster. So it means ECU have this function already but it is about how to activate it.

No local has it as well the difference is yhe one you activated immediately locks it when you walk away whereas the local one is more of a auto-timed one that has nothing yo do with you walking away just going out of range

Unfortunately i was pretty disappointed that the local X didn't come with this speedometer as standard. It's not just because it looks nicer and is a screen but as most members will know, coming from a 9th gen (Rebirth) it used to have the MiD (Multi information display) and that display had a few car settings in it such as the door locks and the interior lights and even as youve mentioned the walk away door locks, and in the local X all those settings cannot be accessed because the TW headunit doesn't change any car settings and the speedometer is the basic one. I'm also planning to change my cluster soon for this reason as well

Alhamdulilah feeling very pleased with my decision of buying it as i was a die hard fan of grande
Here’s a short story of how i became a honda fan
Excatly 1 year back we were planning on buying a car and we were to decide between grande and civic, as i was a die hard grande fan boy i didnt even think for a sec and went for grande even ignoring its cons like it had the same shape as of a 25-30 lakh gli, i was spending 4 million and just getting some minor differences from gli, corolla was also famous for its poor handling and braking but still i ignored it and went for grande because of its initial acceleration and front drl​ another reason why i didnt opt for civic were the issues in civic like the steering rack, battery and some other issues
Anyways got my grande and enjoyed it for some time until i started to regret my decision, it all started when i went to pick my friend and he said when did i buy a new gli at that very moment I instantly regretted my decision becuase i had spent a hefty amount of money and people still confused it with a gli​ so time passed and some other incidents occured that made me change my mind some of them were that grande’s steering starts to float at around 130-150 and the car seems as it would open the very moment if i take it to a higher speed now i know these speeds are not suitable for these local cars but still i had to test what the car was capable of another main incident that happened was that it was around at 1 in the night when i went to get something from the store and on the way something was on the road so I quickly had to swerve the car and trust me i felt that my car was almost started to tail now i don’t remember how it didn’t completely tail out but it sure did made my mind change and now I started to dislike grande
Anyways time passed and now here i am with my civic X almost have kept it for around a month and here is some of my experience with it
Firstly its shape, looks are completely several leagues ahead of grande
Then its interior is also far far ahead good looking than grande, its seating posture is also very good
Moreover its handling, braking, road grip and presence, stability at high speed is just unmatchable
Now lets come to the point where most of you may be interested that is its acceleration and believe me its acceleration is better than grande now i know most of you would be thinking what rubbish or non sense am saying but trust me you simply need to change the way you accelerate it and boom it has better acceleration than grande, but still grande has a slightly better pickup till 100 but after that there is no chance for grande, now i know these cars are not for racing but still we all do friendly runs between our friends

Alright members so I have a seriously interesting question for you, particularly the members who are a bit more into modifying their civics like @Spano and @InNoCeNt_DeViL. I recently found out that there is a Civic sold in india known as the Civic ZX (no its not a land cruiser). whats interesting is that the ZX has the same shiftless transmission as our local Oriel and its also R18Z1 (1.8L), however that car has paddle shifters and once you engage manual mode (put it in S and use any + or -), it behaves as good as if not better than turbo, the advantage being the way better response to flooring it when you use the - paddle and it works quite nicely. I know some people would say oh why don't you just sell your Oriel and buy a turbo instead but not everyone's willing to sell their car just for one feature so I was curious as im not in the country currently but when i am i will investigate this myself, is it possible that someone goes to the market or in some way plugs in a 1.5Ts steering wheel and checks if the paddle shifters are plug and play as remote start works in 2016 - 2017 Oriels so surely this too could work? An interesting thing to look into kindly let me know if anyone figures this out

The lights went away of their own the next time i started the car (parked for around 6 hours) and the cluster is now back to normal.

The pedal shifters are useless on the Turbo so I’m not sure what you’re expecting out of them on a 1.8

I've dug into it a bit more it's a complex process, involving getting a different tcm, it seems quite effective as I've seen in this one video I'll attack below, however if its as complex as changing the tcm, I won't bother. Yet if any brother with a turbo is willing to try it with a brother who has an oriel or someone comes across a turbo steering wheel I don't see the harm in simply trying it out as the stock speedo has a manual mode indicator, and yeah the oriel has its own speedometer its redline is different to the turbo as turbos is 6500 oriels is 6700, so it does have the programming im sure. But again its one of those things you only know when you see it

Paddle Shifters on a CVT are pretty much useless. In almost all cases you they will actually make you slower. They are there to give better control while going downhill, and/or the imitate the feel of a traditional torque converter automatic transmission for people who are overly sensitive to CVT's rubber banding effect. Stop fantasizing based on half baked information please.

Yeah he showed that pedal shifters work, but how exactly do they make any difference? I’ve owned a 1.5T for 3.5 years and the only time I used pedal shifters is when coming downhill, and that too because Honda intentionally omitted the L gear.

AA Everyone....bit of a tricky observation here....has anyone noticed a small increase in their civic temperature gauge over the years? I had this nagging feeling since few weeks and just recently compared with that of a friend. The difference is 1 point on a warmed up car. 18 steps vs 19
Any idea what may be going on? Coolant replacement, sensor going faulty or just radiator having some blockage? Coolant is almost 5 years old now.

Well since the 1.8 lags a bit halfway through the rev range it would've been nice to rev it out yeah i know a cvt isn't the best transmission for this kind of stuff I'm only being curious however it seems to be a pretty complex and expensive process so it doesn't really make it worth the hassle

Paddle shifters will not change or reduce the inherent lag. You can't change the design basics and CVT programming by adding on 2 plastic pieces on the steering wheel.
