fuel pump warranty claim
AOA everyone. how are you ? Sharing my experience of warranty claim of fuel pump. I have a civic 1.8 dec 2018 model. It's driven mostly on motorway routes and just accumulated 11000 kms. Anyways one fine morning started and drove the car but all of a sudden, stalled in the middle of the road with no warning whatsoever. Tried to Start, took self, but did not start. Read on the internet that a CVT should not be towed with driving wheels on road, hence Got it delivered to Honda Avenue on recovery. where it started just fine. The warranty manager took a test drive and car behaved perfectly. Power delivery was okay and engine did not hesitate to rev up. They did make a report but diagnosed that no problem was found. Frustrated enough, I drove back home. Started using my car daily to ensure that it was a one time occurrence as I cannot image the senario of this happening on motorway on scorching summer day with family. Anyways the car stalled again on a busy road and I had to bear the frowns of everyone passing by. Took an hour to manage a recovery and when i tried to start the car after an hour. It started with no problem. Made a video of car not starting and cautiously drove it home. Next morning called the dealership and sent them the video, they launched a warranty claim of fuel pump which arrived in 4 days. Replaced the fuel pump assembly. So far so good, hopefully it stays that way.
