People will and do call me and AUNDA fanboy and the reason I became a Honda fan was because of Corolla. For me (everyone has a different criteria) the drive of Civic is superior enough that despite its so called quality issues, defects and flaws the drive makes it worth it to be ready for the problems that come with it.
Till now I have faced AC gas leakage due to evaporator problem but the leak isn’t much so didn’t get it changed yet.
The other problem I faced was rust at door joints and lock areas which I got refinished again from a good painter. I also had a Corolla 1.8 CVT 11th Generation and it used to feel so wierd to drive that I ended up selling it and Allhamdolillah bought another Civic X instead of it and this is what I meant when I said I am willing to face the problems that come with it because the drive compensates for them. Corolla used to feel all over the place with a sense of poor control and lack of confidence in the drive. Like I said there is a reason I am an AUNDA FANBOY.
So don’t worry you have made an absolutely right decision if you like to drive yourself. People who don’t drive themselves and have a hired driver should buy Corolla but those who drive themselves should buy a Civic. Also if you live in cities with carpeted roads then Civic is better. The superior drive has it’s drawbacks which are less road clearance and a relatively sensitive suspension which offers more pleasure but less tolerance to beatings. Not saying that Civic cannot tackle “kachay” rastay, it can but Corolla tackles them better in terms that suspension is rougher and takes the beating better. Civic needs to be kept pampered and not abused which can be done with a Corolla.
At the end every user has a preference and either one can be bought as per that preference.
