Apparantly the issues and complaints has sent them to the drawing board for sorting it out and thoroughly test it before bringing it back. They are themselves not certain about Turbo.
Deep inside my head I had thought of switching as well after 2-3 years, because it was a new experience for our conditions I was a bit scared of Turbo and its teething problems so wanted to wait and see if there were any before having one. So I went for the Oriel till that time.
Even the 1.8 may have a same old engine but ask any owner, its just the same engine for the sake of an old engine tag rest the aerodynamics, chassis, suspension, transmission and everything makes it a totally different car and nothing like any of the Civics before.
So my advice: if you want to change your car early and can't wait book an Oriel, in 4-5 months if Turbo is back in the process you can change variant upon balance payment. If not you can keep driving the Oriel till Turbo comes back. Once it comes back, wait like me to find out there are no issues. Sell the Oriel and get Turbo then. Its not like Oriel will give much loss. Those who buy Oriels on booking can easily sell them at par even after an year or so.
Or another option is buy a used registered Turbo from the market. Cars are available in 30-31 and some reportedly sold less than 30 as well. Get it checked for originality from a good workshop and ride the Turbo bandwagon
