I hear all what is being said about no point in "tuning" the Oriel but if you go to the facebook page of Unichip and see the post dealing with the Oriel, there it will be seen a Oriel on the dyno with a picture of the graph of power vs speed it will be seen that there is a gain in the lower part of the graph of around 25HP. But at the top end the final HP is still 140. They also claim that the torque (more important than HP) comes in at a lower RPM as opposed to the stock torque that comes in at 4000RPM. This can be compared to the Turbo where the torque is rated at just 1700RPM.

According to this guy I spoke to at Unichip, If I am not satisfied, the car will be returned to original condition with no payment from me.

I suggest not to fiddle with it Abbasi Sb. I asked the UniChip guys a few weeks ago and they told me flat out that they don't tune the R18 for HP gain.

Well if you do get it..then share your experience here too...If low end torque has a significant boost I guess you could shave 0.5 s from 0-100 time....

Theres used to be turbocharged reborn civic in Khi, it was 4-5 years. Unichip can order turbo kit for R18 and easily make around 220-240hp on stock internal on 8-10psi.

It is still being produced in very small number. You may get it on own from market.

I would suggest you to wait till the issue of turbo is resorted.
Don't get the old used ones specially from the market as they have several other issues other then knocking itself.

@omarkhan239, Sir you make a compelling case for leaving well enough alone. My original plan was to use the Oriel until they start marketing the turbo again, then replace this car with a Turbo. So it seems I revert back the old plan and wait is until next year (hopefully).

Agree totally. Who knows what the previous owner has done to the engine in his attempts to solve the knocking issue.

I saw a video on u-tube of a Australian company, Hondadata who found that there is a limit to how power could be sent through the CVT, Ultimately it is the limiting factor on HP increase.

I wish turbo came back next air with international cluster meter, led headlights Apple car play and most importantly with dual clutch transmission in place of cvt.

Dual Clutch ? That is in the realm of sports cars my friend...forget that ever comes to Pakistan..even international civic doesn't have that...

a news was circulating 2-3 days back in which they were testing DCT in Turbo civic x back in Japan lets hope for good

I have booked a turbo expected to delivered in September 17 but if there is no production what will be the solution from honda ....as they have not yet declared it officially or offer to replace it with oriel one......

Hondata is US company and most of the videos u r watching is from hondata youtube page....i ve seen those videos and cvt gearbox can hold upto 250hp with no problem.

DCT gearbox is still new in Honda coz its very expensive compare to cvt gearbox, Vezel got dct but HR-V got cvt.

They are in testing phase for next gen civic to handle more torque.
