Another name for brake hold is hill start assist, that is how it's advertised on Honda's website as well. I avoid it during stop and go traffic because there were instances where I pressed the accelerator right as the hand brake was about to be applied and I gave a very unpleasant sound and sensation.

Brake hold is really useful in traffic, been using in Audi n in Civic both but in civic Everytime I have to set brakehold after startup which is frustrating

Yeah but personally I prefer it that way. I only like to engage it in specific situations - because of OCD I get the feeling that if I'm driving around with it all the time its damaging the car somehow. Even though I'm sure that won't be the case.

I read somewhere before switching to an automatic transmission, to never keep the brake depressed while in D, as it puts great deal of load on the transmission. What do you guys prefer? BrakeHold or shifting to Neutral and applying parking brake? any better recommendation is most welcome. Thank you!

BrakeHold only works when you have seat belt on. It was designed for ergonomic purpose, during traffic or signals, when the car comes to standstill, you just have to lift your feet and relax. The moment you'll depress the gas pedal, it would engage.

Is the normal player any good? what value does android one add?

Although navigation is very overpriced, I didn't opt for it at the time of the booking. Final Payment k time karwa dia tha navigation. For the value addition, it is fair on the price point. I like it for the front rear cameras and video songs. Haven't tried the navigation yet. But, it looks and feels far better than the normal baseline setup. All the best!

Yes that is another practice I hate - keeping car in D while stopped. I've heard that it doesn't damage CVT in the same way that it damages a conventional auto, but still it's not a recommended practice. The whole comfort of brake hold is built around this, and this is the way my wife (who daily drives the Turbo) uses it. Personally whenever I use brake hold I still put the car into N whenever I'm stopped for anything more than 5 seconds or so.

In Audi it's auto so I m so used n now prefer that way as it's annoying to press button again n again after every startup, I think in Vezel it's Auto set brake hold will check my brother vezel n he never used brake hold.

In Audi owner manual the dsg gearbox has to be put on N wherever I stop at traffic signal even on auto hold and same I do in Civic.

I dont know bro where you have read that but as far as i know, auto transmissions have torque converters and one of the prime features of TC is to block the power transmission through gearbox to ahead while braking in D. Therefore the point of load on transmission during idling in D doesn't seems correct to me.

Use brake hold function but on long stops put it in N and then back to D while moving.... from N and D shifting you won't be needing to press the brake paddle. this is an advantage and convenience

Try it with switching off the AC and lights... You will feel a slight dip in rpm during brake hold and in D which got relieved after switching back to N..... try it

Yes, that's why no matter what anyone says, there has to be some component which is getting stressed out while you're stopped in D for extended periods.

For starters, just open the hood, switch on the car and put it into D (while car is stopped) and see how engine moves around on the mounts.
