I think it's better to take a registered vehicle out of the Showroom but the most important is insurance. At the end is a personal choice and as per my knowledge, no disadvantage of keeping the car inside till the rego is done.

I for one delayed picking the car up as the plates had not arrived therefore told the showroom to keep it inside till the plates are on the car. Why give the police walaas a chance to pull me aside for a routine kharchaa paani.

If getting the plates is a story of a couple of days then one can wait however if they're taking longer then the choice is yours.

@sashah666 Is vehicle invoice given at the time of delivery because as per my info those documents are required for registration. If not how much time does Atlas Honda takes to handover invoice documents to customers.

Depends on dealership and customers both.

Invoice comes in a week later after car is physically received at the dealership. Now some dealers hand over the car immediately on a delivery letter and call later for invoice. While some dealers don't inform the customer that his car is physically there, park it at the dealership and only inform customer once invoice is also received from factory to hand over both things together.

Finally booked my I-VTEC Oriel today with delivery expected Jan (end) or Feb 2017. Confirmed with the sales rep, production will resume for Oriel in Jan 2017 and and Turbo in Dec 2016. Reason being that cars got overbooked and they ran out of kits, so wait is for import of kits. Plain I-VTEC hardtop version is readily available so guess its still in production at the moment.

Also confirmed Honda has introduced additional quality checks and removing the issue with joints finishing. Mileage quoted is 9.5-10km with factory tested for 18km/l with eco mode and ideal conditions which seems in line with US ratings of 43mpg for highway for 10th Gen Civic. Realistically I will expect 9km/l, additional is bonus.

Also have an observation on the NAV, I've used and have a android system on my other car but the system on Oriel is extremely smooth and responsive. Cameras don't seem HD but its not an issue. There is a SD card slot on the dash plus really liked the tray type space for resting a cellphone with a rubberish non scratch bottom.

I would rather wait for the car as prefer the 2017 model but for people who need it now will really recommend the plain I-VTEC with NAV as an option excellent value for money, the left out components are just novelties. Also if you have a really good tax guy heard you can adjust and recover the tax filer 75000 charge so that pays up for the NAV system.

I booked oriel few days ago and the tentative date they gave me is Dec mid. I guess the plant hasn't shut down, they will produce the pre-booked cars first and then they would start producing Sept onwards booking from January. I can wait, but I don't want defects in my ride. Make me wait 8 months but give me a good one. Please Honda!

This is weird. I have been committed delivery of my Orial in September by the dealership. This was confirmed by Atlas themselves as late as last week and they have given the September end, October start delivery period based on the relationship number.

Will this impact new customers only or will it impact the existing ones in line as well?

My guess is already ordered cars must be in pipeline but production for new oriel orders like mine will commence from mid Jan 2017 (turbo from Dec 2016) once they receive further kits.

Hey buddy. Yes in my case the vehicle invoice was given to me at the time of delivery as the car was registered as well at the time of delivery. And yes the document is required for registration as a friend of mine in lahore had received his vehicle and it wasn't registered and was at his house till the time the vehicle invoice was given to him which depends dealer to dealer and customer to customer as well.

As for the case of no vehicle invoice, arkhitekt is correct about the situation.

i think due to shortage of 1.5T i wont be gettting this month, maybe end of Sept....it's lunar silver....how much is he charging for glass coating?

People before many of owners get excited and get rims. Please follow the technical standards and recommendations.

I posted all compatible sizes for Civic X earlier. This is a sample case scenario and notice that rims width and tyre have a range which is extremely important. Dont get a wider rim and narrower tyre which doesn't fall in recommended range or vice versa

In UK, an incorrect tyre as per rim width range fails for an insurance claim. Here is a screenshot from the MOT Guide.

A wider rim and narrower tyre or vice versa makes the fitting bead unstable. A cause of tyre failure as well

Following or not following standards is totally your right. Just giving info as per my knowledge
