Hello. My question is actually related to brv but posting it here since some of the experts regarding tires are active on this thread. So i want to change the tires of my brv. Stock size is 195/60/16.
I want comfort and grip. Im getting original yokohama blue earth made in japan 215/60/16 and michelin primacy 4 made in germany, 215/55/16. Is this size okay? And which one should i opt for? Primacy 4 or blueearth?

Those are both not at all suitable for the car. Stick with the original size, or at best you can go with 205/55. Anything more than that is too much variance.

It’s going to look horrible for starters. And yes, fuel economy will suffer. Ride quality will suffer. And it will put a lot of strain on the suspension.

Your best bet would be 205/60-16

205/55-16 suggested by my bro darthvader gets smaller in overall diameter and it will increase wheel arch gap.

215/55-16 is almost same diameter but a bit wide so fuel consumption will get affected

215/60-16 is a NO GO area because it will get high and heavy both

I opted for primacy 4 215/55/16. The car is rarely used. It has covered 17k kms in 3 years so fuel consumption, which may increase a negligible amount, is not gonna affect much since its not a daily runner. My main concern was comfort and grip and the road noise in bg luxo is terrible. I hope primacy 4 is a good choice. I checked online its a 3mm variation overall and i guess it wont cause any major issues

I advice you stick to original size or if willing then 205/60R16 is sufficent in any good company even chinese except pathetic Bgluxo.
I installed Kumho1 ecsta made in vietnam, in 195/60R16, ride is now much much excellent thn BG's.

Also no one seems to have UC6 in 215/50/17. Everyone seems to be pushing Primacy 4.

What's the most effective way to get catalytic converter cleaned? Mileage is 81k and car feels kind of sluggish and slow to respond. Spark plugs have been changed.

Try using hi octane for a while. I did the same and car's response is pretty neat.

I think that would be counterintuitive. High octane contains higer content of MMt which chokes the cat prematurely

Sometime back I had the opportunity to have a chat with Shell CEO and he claimed that Shell V Power is now 100 percent metal free.There were some metal traces found, but when they investigated these came from the old pipelines and storage and movers. He said that now they clean the system to ensure minimum contamination and the V Power Shell imports is 100% metal free at port.
